Guided Wellness Is Giving Back With $20 Off Services in December

I read recently that one of the most challenging things about being a parent is the idea that you are responsible for your child’s memories. Whether you are a parent, uncle / aunt, grandparent, teacher or you simply encounter children day to day, we all have the ability to impact a child and their recollection of childhood.

What do you recall from childhood? Is your memory one of loving, gentle interactions? Were you affirmed, your worth reflected in their eyes of your caregivers? Did you have your needs met? Were you often wanting more attention, lonely or confused? Was there abuse or neglect?

This holiday season I am reminded of our opportunity to give, perhaps especially to children for whom the magic of the holiday season is alive and well. With this in mind, Guided Wellness is giving back and I want you to join me. When you bring in an unwrapped toy in December 1 – 20 Guided Wellness will give you $20 off your services that week.

This opportunity is available through the first three weeks of the month (Santa needs a few days to sort and plan). So come in three times, bring three gifts and get a total of $60 off! Whether you come in once a month or weekly know that the opportunity to give back and impact a child is there. I have connected with local efforts that distribute toys to children in need right here in Southern Utah.

It’s no surprise that giving back to others improves our own sense of wellbeing. One article by Jill Suttie and Jason Marsh (2010) explains, “In a 2006 study, Jorge Moll and colleagues at the National Institutes of Health found that when people give to charities, it activates regions of the brain associated with pleasure, social connection, and trust, creating a “warm glow” effect. Scientists also believe that altruistic behavior releases endorphins in the brain, producing the positive feeling known as the ‘helper’s high.’”

If you’ve been waiting for the “right time” to start counseling then this is the perfect month to begin with savings and some heart-healing giving. Don’t put your mental and emotional health off to the New Year. If you are ready to begin or if it’s time to come back then please reach out. It’s as easy as giving us a call or shooting us an email. I look forward to joining you as we make a positive impact in the lives of children this holiday season.
