✔You’ll need to be fully licensed in your field (e.g.counseling, social work, etc) for independent practice and have two years of experience(minimum) in that field.
✔You must have completed an EMDR International Association approved training program in EMDR therapy and completed your 10 hours of the initial consultation.
✔You’ll need to perform a minimum of 50 clinical sessions in which EMDR was utilized.
✔20 hours of consultation in EMDR by an Approved Consultant are required and will keep your work on track. Your consultant will sign off’ on your knowledge of the AIP model, 8 phases, and 3 pronged approaches. They’ll likely want to watch recorded sessions to witness your amazingness.
✔To obtain your certification you’ll need to complete twelve hours of continuing education in EMDR every two years. So start exploring online and in-person training that spark your interest and have the EMDRIAstamp of approval.
